A SUNSHINE Coast business owner has said an issue with her Bigpond email account has cost her "thousands" of dollars.
A Telstra spokesman said the customer's problem would be fixed today, but the business owner said the damage had already been done.
"We believe an error in our system has unfortunately caused the customer's email to become inactive and we have been working to rectify the issue," A Telstra spokesman said.
"We have apologised to the customer for the inconvenience this has caused and hope to have her services back up and running on Thursday."
The business owner said her manufacturers and customers have been unable to contact her and she'd lost sales as a result of her email account being unuseable since November 13.
"We must have lost thousands of dollars already," she said.
"Manufacturers and customers are trying to contact us through that email and it's bouncing back.
"People can't run a business like this but when I rang Telstra I was put through to four different people and it still wasn't fixed and I was told they don't know how long it will take to fix."
She said it was a particularly busy time for business in the lead up to Christmas and to be stuck without an email for 10 days had made operating extremely difficult.
"How can you run a business without an email?" She said.
