Epic flight will film the country and help sick kids

IN A labour of love Maryborough's Doug Bauer spent three years building his seaplane.

Now he's ready to soar.

Mr Bauer's craft, along with four other planes, will embark on an epic 14,000km journey from Caboolture across the country on Sunday.

The group will film the journey and support the Make-A-Wish Foundation along the way, donating flights to sick kids, as they visit more than 100 destinations.

"I've got the ideal machine to go and explore our great continent," he said.
