EVACUATION: Shark sighting shuts down Coast beach

LIFEGUARDS were forced to evacuate swimmers from a Coast beach yesterday following a confirmed shark sighting.

Yesterday about 2pm, swimmers at Kings Beach Caloundra were rushed from the water after reports of a shark swimming nearby.

Beach-goers were told to stay out of the water until it was safe to go back in.

By 4pm the beach had re-opened.
