"Nervous" and "impossible" are not in Coen Ashton's vocabulary. Valerie Horton

Fearless Coen spreads the word on organ donation

JOURNEYS will be undertaken. The message that organ donation saves lives will be delivered.

If things go as planned, a country will be inspired.

It will all happen in just seven days.

Sound a little lofty? Maryborough's favourite teenager, Coen Ashton, didn't think so.

Not when the question of nervousness was put to him ahead of his epic jetski adventure up the Murray River.

"Nah, I don't know what nervous is," Coen told the Chronicle.

"What's that word mean?

"Nervous? Just wait. Let me go check the dictionary."

Jokes aside, no one has ever tried a trip quite like this.

People don't travel 2000km on a jetski, and they don't do it in seven days.

Dawn Ashton says that's her biggest worry: actually making it before the clock ticks out, before she gets nervous the world is watching and there's not enough time for her boy to finish.

"The fear is that it's just not achievable in seven days," Mrs Ashton said.

"No one's ever done it. No one knows.

"You talk to all the big jetski guys and they're all going, 'we don't know whether it's possible'."

Coen doesn't know nervous and he doesn't know impossible. They're not in his vocabulary.

All he knows is last time he undertook the journey in seven weeks with 35% lung use.

This time he'll have 74% lung use, so seven days, you'd think, should be a cinch by his standards.
