Fins are off to a flyer

Under-9 Noosa Dolphins 35 def Flinders 30

THE Dowling and Neylan U9 Noosa Fins had a great season opener match against a strong Flinders team.

The Fins got off to a flying start, with Charlie tackling like a pro, some fantastic teamwork from both the forwards and backs and some acrobatics by Ritchie on the try line to score.

The second half saw the Fins looking a bit flatter but managing to keep up some momentum to set up a few more tries, with Rory, Ritchie, CJ and Charlie all getting across the line.

The Fins came away with a win in the end.

The Dominos Pizza Player of the Week Award went to Charlie McKerrow.

Under-10 Noosa Dolphins 21 def Matthew Flinders 17

A QUICK kick-off forced a fumble and the Dowling and Neylan Noosa Dolphins U10 side's season started with a bustling attack, with Flinders fleeing from our committed advance.

Daniel made the most of the opening onslaught, darting through for the first try of the season, brilliantly converted from the sideline by Harry.

Flinders bounced back with a runaway and two more tries had Noosa on the ropes.

Finnbar burst from a halfway ruck, palming and ploughing towards the line before Atticus took over, scoring our second, which was also converted.

With time ticking down, Oscar bolted the length of the field, pulling a penalty, which Harry used to dash to the line.

Another conversion and the boys were bouncing with joy on the full-time whistle. A deserved win for a determined effort.

Under-12 Noosa Dolphins v Caloundra

A GREAT display of rugby skills were shown considering the two-week break. Caloundra defeated Noosa 19-5.

Noosa forwards worked tirelessly as the game was a display of pick and drive, with the backs starved of the ball.

Man of the match was Jack Foreman.

Under-13 Noosa Dolphins 48 def University 17

UNIVERSITY hosted this round one match and took an early lead with a kick and run from deep inside their own half.

The Dolphins then took control of possession, territory and the scoreboard.

Soren, Sabyr, Joe and Jack were tireless in the forwards, defending bravely and winning plenty of ball.

The pace and passing moves along the back line from James, Jarrah, Lochie and Max was sensational and Josh Whitehill was on fire with a brilliant all-round display of strength, skill and speed.

This was a promising start to the season.

Tries:

Jarrah (2), Josh (2), Lochie D (2), Max, Ollie. Conversions: Jarrah (2), Sabyr, Lochie D.

Domino's Pizza Player of the Match: Josh Whitehill.
