Fire damages Coast coffee business

THE beans at a Kunda Park coffee business got a little bit of extra heat when a fire broke out in a roasting machine.

Firefighters were called to The Coffee Place on Page St shortly before 4pm.

Maroochydore Fire Station officer Kim Gray said the roaster had caused a small fire up which spread up through a flue and into the building's roof.

"I've got to give credit to the owners," Mr Gray said.

"They had the evacuation completed and they had the fire contained on our arrival.

"We just had to extinguish the fire."

He said fire damage was kept to a minimum.

No one was injured.
