Free IKEA gift vouchers at Sunshine Coast Xmas tree

THE Sunshine Coast location of a secret Christmas tree sponsored by IKEA North Lakes has been revealed today.

Somewhere in the central Sunshine Coast, the "gift tree” will be adorned with IKEA Christmas decorations, reflecting the department store's traditional Swedish roots.

IKEA will give away hundreds of gift vouchers to those who find the tree at one of three secret locations in Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.

"We can all do with a helping hand at Christmas and IKEA hopes to spread the joy during this particularly costly season,” a statement by IKEA North Lakes said.

Scattered throughout the decorations on the gift tree will be IKEA gift vouchers at varied values, for locals to use in-store for all of their Christmas wishes.

When arriving at the IKEA Gift Tree, Sunshine Coast locals will need to enter in to the Christmas spirit and sing 10 seconds of their favourite Christmas carol before being invited to select a voucher from the tree.

Every visitor to the tree will have the opportunity to be entered into a prize draw to win a voucher to the cost of an IKEA room makeover, in time for Christmas.

IKEA North Lakes store manager Stefano Bizzarri said: "We are thrilled to give back to the local community and share in the true spirit of Christmas.

"We want to give the Brisbane and Sunshine Coast communities the opportunity to create the perfect Christmas with their family and friends, and hope to provide inspiration for making a beautiful home filled with delicious treats from IKEA.

"We encourage Queenslanders to come down to one of the...locations for some Christmas cheer, and for the chance to win a voucher to the cost of a very special IKEA room makeover. It's certainly the season to be merry!”

IKEA North Lakes opened its doors on 17 November 2016.
