FRIEND OR FOOD? Snakes captured with other animals

SNAKES on the Sunshine Coast have been captured making friends (or a meal) of other animals.

Karen Jane Costanza said her sister who was visiting from San Francisco came across a sea snake with a jellyfish on the beach on Friday morning.

"(She) went for an early walk around Point Cartwright and she came across this sea snake,” she said.

"The snake catcher did come and take it away. They said it was one of the most venomous in Australia.”

On Sunday, Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7 were called to a python that was hanging out with some chickens.

"We were recently called out to relocate this Coastal Carpet Python from within a Yandina chicken coop. Luckily we managed to arrive before one of the chickens accidentally went missing,” snake catcher Lockie said.

"Safe to say this big guy wasn't all that happy to be moved on.”
