Full moon photo bombs this romantic pic

PHOTOGRAPHERS Kirk and Katrina Vagg chose a rural Maleny setting as the perfect backdrop for a couple's romantic engagement photographs.

But the best photograph of all happened in a flash when Saturday's full moon made an epic rise just as the couple were packing up for the night.

"We were doing an engagement shoot for Matt (Crumpler) and Erin (Cargill) who are getting married at Maleny Manor in April,” Katrina explained.

"They wanted a country style shoot and we know a lot of good spots and local farmers who let us go on their property.

"We were finished and the shoot was all done and as we were walking up the hill we could see the top part of the moon, it had started rising.

"It was huge, so Kirk whacked on a big lens and the couple drove all the way up to the crescent section of the hill.

"It was a 400mm lens, a nice big lens, which brings the moon forward even more.”

And then, as the couple were edging close for a kiss, Kirk snapped the most amazing picture of all.

The couple, who run Kirk and Treens Wedding Photography, are known for their awesome photos of couple falling in love.

But this one was so amazing, some questioned whether it was real.

"That's exactly how it looked,” Katrina said.

"We had someone suggest it was totally photo-shopped, but Kirk took an image of it still in his camera to show it wasn't.”
