Glamour takes on style in Maroochy River prize home

A FOUR-bedroom apartment overlooking the Maroochy River is the latest prize home up for grabs.

But if you are looking for a holiday apartment, there is also one available on the Gold Coast.

It all comes down to whether you prefer the glitz and glamour of the Gold Coast or opt for the stylish sophistication of the Sunshine Coast.

The lucky winner of Draw 328 will choose between a house-sized apartment looking over the Maroochy River to the ocean on the Sunshine Coast, or a luxury waterfront Gold Coast home plus $450,000 in gold bullion.

"It will be a hard choice for the winner, but one that most people would love to make," RSL CEO Luke Traini said.

"Each property has a total prize value of $1.7 million. They are both fully furnished and can each be rented for at least $1000 a week. They also come with 12 months of free rates, water and body corporate fees.

"This is going to be a life-changer for one lucky ticket-holder."

The Sunshine Coast property is a four-bedroom apartment on Duporth Ave, Maroochydore with breathtaking views across the river to the ocean beyond.

There is a spacious, open-plan kitchen, dining and living area as well as a large north-east facing balcony, perfect for catching ocean breezes and entertaining.

"This apartment, in the heart of the trendy Sunshine Coast, is just a short stroll to boardwalk restaurants and bars and boutiques," Mr Traini said.

The winner will also receive a $2000 travel voucher.

The Gold Coast home, on Quayside Dr at Helensvale, boasts waterfront views and has a 10m pontoon with deepwater access. The four-bedroom home has a separate study and media room, an outdoor barbecue area and in-ground pool.

"It also comes with $450,000 in gold for the winner to spend any way they please - perhaps on a boat to moor off their new pontoon," Mr Traini said.

Mr Traini said buying a ticket in an RSL Art Union prize home was making a donation with a dream.

"All the money raised through the lottery goes straight into helping current and ex-service men and women and their families by providing welfare, housing, counselling and other services," he said.

Tickets are on sale until August 25 and can be purchased at www.rslartunion.com.au or 1300 775 888.

The prize will be drawn on September 2.
