Globits and Wild claim lawn bowls cash in style

BOWLS: Former Mooloolaba Bowls Club general manager Jay Globits oversaw the club through its biggest changes so it is fitting he was part of the team that won the $15,000 Mooloolaba Top Draw Fours yesterday.

Globits teamed up with Pine Rivers' Robbie Wild for the first time in 10 years and blew the field away to run out convincing winners.

Globits was in charge at the club when it underwent the massive renovations including the new under cover bowls area.

"I left the wife at work for three days with all the kids while I am just off playing bowls," Globits said.

"It ($6000 prize money) is better than going home with a frozen chook."

The win topped a stunning week for Wild who won the Australian Open Pairs earlier in the week, pocketing $7500.

"It has been an incredible week and hasn't sunk in yet," he said.
