FOOTBALL: A Ligue 1 clash in France was forced to be abandoned after a goalkeeper was hit by firecrackers thrown by the crowd.
Metz keeper Anthony Lopes was taken to hospital for tests after being hit by the objects thrown by Lyon supporters at the Stade Saint-Symphorien in Lyon 30 minutes into the game.
"At worst the eardrum could be affected,” Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas said.
"He has a loss of balance and he doesn't know where he is.
"That's why he was taken to the hospital. The team will wait for him and hope it's nothing serious.”
Lyon could be hit by sanctions and might even lose the points from the game following investigations in to the incident.
