IF YOU like good music and good beer, then make sure you get a ticket to see Boy and Bear when they bring their Limit of Love tour to the Lake Kawana Community Centre tomorrow.
Thanks to their collaboration with Akasha Brewing Company, the band has created an All Australian Ale (AAA) that will be available exclusively at the show.
Boy and Bear bassist Dave Symes said he couldn't wait for the fans to taste the beer.
He said the collaboration came about when band member Tim, who lived local to the independent Sydney brewery, got into discussions with the owners about supporting local suppliers and using homegrown ingredients.
Symes said the band and the brewery had something in common - they both wanted to support the farmer and those in regional spaces.
"We're bringing the tour to regional Australia because (we feel) it's important to get out of the city centres and the tour is a good way for us to connect with our fans,” he said.
Symes said all proceeds from the brew sold at the concerts would go directly to Australian charity Buy a Bale, which helps to support rural Australian communities and farmers.
"We thought it was a nice way to connect with the regional centres other than just a concert and so we hope it'll bring about some awareness about using local ingredients. There's a push back home about that with restaurants and other things so it's just another way to do that.”
While Symes said he and his bandmates had been touring in America and Canada, he was excited to bring the Limit of Love tour to Australia.
"I like the honesty in our performance and the way we recorded the album - we set up in a beautiful recording studio in England and just played music,” he said.
Tickets are $44.90 from www.oztix.com.au.
