MORE than 300 people enjoyed fun classroom activities with their grandchildren as Buddina State School celebrated National Grandparents Day.
Some of the men and women even acted as "surrogate” grandparents to other little ones who were without theirs.
Year 2 children were building potato people and making family trees while the Year 6 children completed science experiments.
Grandparents Day is a chance for children and the community to thank grandparents for their love and support.
After participating in classroom activities, the extended families shared a picnic on the lawn where a cuppa was much appreciated while listening to the junior choir sing.
