Happy hit for Pharrell Williams as charts G I R L friendly

PHARRELL Williams has plenty to be happy about.

The American rapper and producer, who was recently in the country as a headliner of the Future Music Festival, is dominating the Australian music charts.

His album G I R L has reached at No 1 on the ARIA albums chart while his Oscar-nominated single Happy, written for the Despicable Me 2 soundtrack, has spent 10 straight weeks on the top of the ARIA singles chart.

Happy's 10-week run combined with Williams' other No 1 hit songs puts him in second place on the list of artists to spend the most weeks at No 1 in Australia.

G I R L finally toppled INXS's The Very Best album off its perch and is currently in the top position on the iTunes Album Chart in 65 countries.

This Thursday Williams is teaming up with the United Nations Foundation to celebrate the annual International Day of Happiness.
