Heaven’s found in a mug of hot chocolate
THERE'S nothing quite like warming up frozen fingers and a cold nose with a steaming mug of hot chocolate.
With lots of rain and colder temperatures about, we asked our online readers to tell us where to find the best hot chocolate on the Coast.
While we had plenty of responses, one clear winner stood out: the thick and delicious Spanish drop found at San Churro, Maroochydore.
And with 24 different types of hot chocolate, San Churro's liquid gold is on everyone's lips.
San Churro marketing manager Katrina Grant said she thought the hot chocolate was so popular because it was different.
"It's really thick and almost has a custard consitency," Ms Grant said.
"It's like a meal in a cup."
Ms Grant described hot chocolate as a "happy drug".
"Chocolate produces endorphins and it's a bit of a reward and indulgence for people," she said.
"It's not something you have every day."
Ms Grant said San Churro's biggest sellers were Couvertura Hot Chocolate and the Classic Spanish.
"The Couvertura is the highest quality chocolate you can get," she said.
"The (Classic) Spanish is made from a mix we import from Spain. It's made to the traditional Spanish recipe."
Ms Grant said the cold weather was a great excuse for people to indulge.
"Hot chocolate is one of those ultimate comfort foods," she said.
Duck out and treat yourself - you deserve it.
