Hit and run on major Sunshine Coast road

UPDATE 9.50AM: Two elderly women have been treated at the scene of a hit and run crash on the Sunshine Coast.

The two women were driving at the intersection of Nicklin Way and Browning Bvd, Battery Hill, just before 8.30am when their car collided with another vehicle.

The other vehicle, believed to be a white hatchback, fled the scene.

Paramedics assessed the two elderly women at the scene of the crash, transporting one woman aged in her 70s to hospital.

The woman suffered minor injuries and is in a stable condition.

A Queensland Police spokeswoman said that police will continue to investigate the crash, and will attempt to identify the other vehicle.

BREAKING 9AM: A vehicle has fled the scene of a two-vehicle crash on the Sunshine Coast, abandoning the elderly woman and her passenger in the other car.

The alarm was raised just before 8.30am to the crash at the intersection of Nicklin Way and Browning Bvd, Battery Hill.

Ambulance officers are currently treating two people at the crash scene.

Police confirmed to the Daily that the crash is a hit and run, with the other vehicles fleeing before authorities could arrive.
