Glamping: A little glamour and a lot of camping

A STUNNING kitchen renovation at Big 4 Holiday Park South Tweed has pushed 'glamping' to new heights.

The space combines 'glamour' and 'camping' with stylish accents to encourage journeying through the Tweed.

"It's expected 500 visitors a night will enjoy the new facilities at Big 4 Holiday Park during upcoming school holidays," park manager Rachael Griffin said.

The theme for the dining room is based on Australia's Green Cauldron, a Tourism Australia initiative for the Tweed.

"We've fitted signs to teach visitors about our history and pristine environment," Ms Griffin said.

"We'd like to encourage them to visit our natural parks and villages."

The kitchen faces a tidal billabong that takes in water from the Terranora inlet.

"You can watch the

kids play in the billabong while you cook," Ms Griffin said.

"It's really just a nice place to sit and relax."

Park owner Andrew Tribe said the fresh space would attract patronage year round.

"Our busy grey nomad winter calendar will also expand further, with a warm and inviting space for trivia, craft sessions, card games and soup nights," Mr Tribe said.

Big 4 Tweed is located on 30 Holden St in South Tweed.
