Iconic Noosa restaurant changes hands after 21 years

Since 1999, Noosaville's Gusto Restaurant has been a favourite for tourists and local alike. Now after 21 years, the white aprons have been passed on to new owners.

Frenchman Tim Lepoutre and wife Chloe are the proud new owners of Gusto, and they couldn't be happier about the new venture.

"We've been coming here for a few years," Mr lepoutre said.

"We love how friendly everyone is, and you can't beat the beaches and National Park."

The trained chef grew up in the North of France and move to Australia in 2014.

The couple have enjoyed many visits to the iconic restaurant over the years.

So when the opportunity to purchase the restaurant was presented to them, they jumped at it.

"We love the food, the staff, and the atmosphere," he said.

With a 12-week-old baby girl, the new restaurant owners will have their hands full, but they were ready for the challenge.

Mr Lepoutre confirmed they would be keeping on all the current staff.

"We just love all the staff here, they are so friendly," he said.

"Some of them have been here for up to 10 years.

"We wouldn't want to change a winning thing."

Mr Lepoutre said the previous owners Kay and Nathan Hall would be using their new-found free time to spend more time with family.

"We have a really good relationship with the previous owners," he said.

"They have been here for 21 years.

"They've done a good job, it is a good business."

Gusto Restaurant will operate from Friday, July 3 to Saturday, July 4 before closing for renovations.

They will then reopen on Friday, July 10.
