Thinking outside the square is what TEDx Noosa speakers do
INTERNATIONALLY recognised Professor Kerry Reid-Searl, colourfully known as "the masked educator'", has joined the list of thought-leading speakers for TEDxNoosa, scheduled for The J on Friday, April 4.
Prof Reid-Searl is based at CQUniversity, which is also a major partner for the event, and operates a thriving Noosa Campus in Noosaville.
She is acknowledged as a leader in health care education through her pioneering work in creating, designing and researching a unique simulation teaching strategy called Mask-Ed (KRS Simulation).
Utilising tenets from both education and drama, Kerry creates and embodies vivid characters that shape the way students approach the humanism and complexities of quality nursing care.
TEDxNoosa speakers will use the theme of Space as a springboard and Prof Reid-Searl will have plenty of material talking about the 'learning space' between knowledge and practice.
TEDx spokesman Adam Blake says TEDx is a community-driven initiative, showcasing and sharing the best ideas from and for the region.
"As such, we look for and need partners who are part of - and invested in - the fabric and future of the region, to help us not only fund but shape our annual events," Adam said.
"CQUni is an ideal fit. TEDx seeks to partner with organisations that are thought leaders and innovators - who promote the value of big ideas and ...Noosa is not just a beautiful place to live, but also a place with creative thinkers and innovators.
Event curator, Nina Shadforth, said the TEDxNoosa 2014 line-up is sure to educate and inspire attendees.
