Is this the oldest cat in Toowoomba?

AT 20 YEARS OLD Koffee may be the oldest cat in Toowoomba.

Generally, indoor cats live between 13 and 17 years.

Koffee, a pure-bred Turkish Angora cat, has already exceed that by three years and his owner Abigail Eberhard said he was in wonderful health.

Koffee was born in England and moved to Australia in 2003.

He came into Ms Eberhard's ownership when his family was unable to continue caring for him. However the family still pays for his food, not wanting to cut ties completely.

She received all immigration and quarantine papers which showed Koffee was born in 1997.

Ms Eberhard said he was healthy and playful.

"You wouldn't even know he is turning 21 this year. He has no health problems and is really active," she said.

"I think he may be the oldest cat in Toowoomba and the only Turkish Angora.

"I'd be interested to see if they were any others out there. He is a very vocal and loud cat. Most of them are quiet but he is the complete opposite and is always meowing. He is affectionate and always needs to be around people."
