Japanese Ice Canyon Walk

TOURSGALLERY give their guests an opportunity to see unusual sights in Japan.

After a major snow clearing effort, the Murodo road, across the Roof of Japan, turns into an ice canyon.

"The road is open to walk along from mid May." according to Ken Osetroff, director of Toursgallery.

Snow walls up to 9 metres high create an unusual but safe area for a picturesque walk.

Closed to regular traffic, this area is part of the Kurobe Alpine Route and is only accessible by electric bus and ropeway.

When springtime gardens full of azaleas, iris and wisteria bloom at a lower altitude, this snowy area is part of Japan that most visitors never get to see.

Toursgallery's Best of Japan Tour includes staying at Japan's highest altitude hotel and a walk in the ice canyon.

Kyoto, Mt Fuji, Nagasaki, castles, volcanos, rural villages and flower filled gardens are also included in this tour.

Commencing on 14 May in Tokyo, this 16 day escorted small group tour is priced at $8,518 twin share.
