COORAN singer Jimmy Davis has made the cut for The X Factor's Top 12.
The Gympie-born singer will perform for the public vote in the talent search's first live show on Sunday.
His mentor Chris Isaak could only choose three singers to take to the live shows, selecting Davis, Big T and Cyrus.
The 22-year-old impressed X Factor "godfather" Simon Cowell on last night's show with his rendition of David Bowie's Life on Mars during a visit to London.
It is one of Cowell's "all time" favourite songs, but the X Factor producer expressed doubt over Davis's delivery.
"Was he holding back there? He seemed polite," Cowell said.
Davis said the comments were fair. Expect to see him ramp up the energy in his performance on Sunday night.
The front-runner, according to Cowell, is In Stereo.
"I have a weird feeling that they could win the show," Cowell said.
The rest of The X Factor Top 12 is comprised of Jess & Matt, The Fisher Boys, Louise Adams, Natalie Conway, Dan Hamill, Michaela Baranov, Georgia Denton and Mahalia Simpson.
