THE carols don't kick off until 4.30pm, but as early as 9am people are lining up at the Kings Beach Amphitheatre to get the perfect seat for the spectacular show.
But it does not matter where you sit, because from every angle you get a beautiful view of the carols on the stage.
The Carols on Kings is expected to draw in about 7000 people this year.
Odette Winnington said the afternoon kicked off at 4.30pm with community performers, followed by the carols spectacular at 6.30pm.
At 8.30pm fireworks will light up the sky.
"It's massive," she said.
"People roll in at 9am in the morning, we're there setting up sound and they are putting out their blankets... it's a much-loved and well anticipated event."
Ms Winnington said there would be dance schools, community singers, a range of soloists and choirs on the stage.
And while the singers whet your appetite for the sound of Christmas, there are different stalls with woodfired pizza, burgers and desserts on sale.
Ms Winnington said the big man in red will of course be making an appearance with a special performance planned.
"Last year Santa did a rap with his elves, it's very entertaining and the kids love it," she said.
"The view from stage is incredible, and we now sell candles that are multicoloured, you look out and see a sea of colourful lights, it's beautiful."
There is a designated area for people with chairs, and blankets.
