EDEN Zerk is dancing her way to her dreams. And she's poppin', krumping and body rolling all the way.

The Mount Coolum hip hop dancer was a member of two Sunshine Coast crews who have just returned from an international competition in the United States.

Sole Studios dance crews Genetik and Checkmate competed in Las Vegas against dancers from 50 other countries at the World Hip Hop Championship.

Checkmate just missed out on a semi-final spot while Genetik reached the top 36 in the word.

For 15-year-old Eden it was a dream to dance in Sin City.

"It was so overwhelming, but so amazing," Eden said.

"It's great to see what the other crews are doing too."

Eden had just one week to perfect her Checkmate routine after returning from the World Championships of Performing Arts in July.

The Los Angeles competition was tough with performers from all over the world vying for prizes.

But Eden was a standout and has accepted an offer of a six-month scholarship to Millennium Dance Complex - a haven for celebrities training for music videos and other projects.

Sole Studios owner Taneikah Wescombe said she was incredibly proud of her crews, who were dancing at an international level for the first time.

Checkmate is a varsity division team of two male and five female dancers aged 15 to 18, while Genetik is an open group of six girls.

"I am very proud of them,'' Ms Wescombe said.

"We had no expectations coming into our first time doing this competition where there were strict criteria and 5000 dancers."
