Prominent local artists including Kendall Perkins and Gary Meyers will have a piece or two on offer for the Give Me Five for Kids charity appeal.

Coolum Artist Tara Spicer has donated pieces to the auction and she said her piece entitled "Tales untold" was based on her daughter and the adventures that await her future.

"In all of my works painting and photography I showcase locals, even the cat was photographed near the local school and I captured the snap of the Rainbow Bee-eater in the Yaroomba parklands," she said.

"I started the photographic process to get a look at the actual composition of my work before I started painting then I thought damn it, it's good, I like this - I'll print it.

"This piece is intrinsically layered to give it a surreal effect, so it's not unlike an oil painting the process is called composited fine art photography and it's a limited edition print."

"The oil painting I've donated is the last of my personal collection, I feel it's important to leave a wake of happiness in your life."

So if you are feeling inspired about leaving your own wake of happiness get down to the Mix FM's Give Me Five For Kids Art Auction toinight from 6pm.

Entry is free and every cent spent goes to helping sick kids and their families on the Sunshine Coast.
