LETTER: Give Coast’s talented artists a concert hall
LAST night I had the privilege of attending a stunning concert.
The concert was conducted by Adrian King with guest artist, cellist Louise King.
This was held in the Lake Kawana Community Centre and it was packed to the rafters with keen listeners of all ages.
Lousie King is a very passionate artist and her playing of the Cello Concerto by Elgar was passionate and superb.
She deserves a better venue.
The stage could hardly cope with the number of instrumental players in the orchestra.
Isn't it time that we had a decent building – a concert hall for these performers, who are professionals, as well as amateurs?
Many local schools have music as an important part of their curriculum, and some of these children will inevitably become professional musicians.
I have lived on the Sunshine Coast for more than 16 years. It’s time we grew up (I am 82).
I would like to see it before I depart this life.
