LETTER: Time for people to rediscover indicators

I THINK it’s time for the majority of drivers on our roads to now take their owner’s manual from their glovebox and read it again, if they have not already done so previously.

Most cars on the road today are automatic.

This feature doesn’t include anything else on most cars except for the transmission.

Unfortunately, some motorists think it includes some of the features on their car, for example their indicators.

No, it does not include your indicators, you still have to do that manually. It is located on your steering column, on the right-hand side in most cars.

If not there, you will find it on the opposite side of your steering column.

The Sunshine Coast is getting worse for drivers failing to comply with one of the basic road rules and showing blatant ignorance to other motorists.

If you think that the road is all about yourself and nobody else, you are wrong.

Be courteous to your fellow road users.
