Louise prepares to ride out Voice storm

AFTER the recent social media storm over her Voice battle, Louise Van Veenendaal has mixed emotions about her upcoming showdown performance.

The 27-year-old received a lot of negative comments and personal attacks on Twitter and Facebook following her sing-off against Jayde Grey and was invited to perform on the Today show to answer her critics.

"It was so weird, so many people were messaging me saying 'you're too raunchy for TV'," she told APN.

"I had no idea it was going to turn out that like. I'm a little scared about how they're going to edit my showdown … I'm so nervous. It's like waiting for a cyclone to come."

But Veenendaal, who returned from LA to go on the show and is currently based with her family at Maroochydore, will be much better prepared for the public reaction to her performance on Monday night.

"I'm going to have some friends helping me. I know it's going to be a storm," she said. "I can't abandon it (social media) because so many people have gone in to bat for me, so many positive people. I'm going to try to turn my head away from the negative and focus on the positive.

"I'm glad we did pre-tape this episode because it is showing I'm not going to change. Even if you put me down, I'm going to come back and do something more outrageous."

Fellow Sunshine Coast local Isaac McGovern, from Cooroy, will also perform on Monday night.

The Voice airs Sundays at 6.30pm and Mondays at 7.30pm on Channel 9/WIN.
