Love those numbers: Cavs star posts record points haul

BASKETBALL: There was a lot to love about Cleveland's 137-126 win over Portland.

Kevin Love led the way with 40 points - including the most ever by an individual in the first term of an NBA match (34).

The opening just fell short of Klay Thompson's record 37 for most points in a quarter.

The Cavaliers also set a franchise-record 20 three-pointers for the game.

LeBron James finished with 31 points, 13 assists and 10 rebounds - the 44th triple-double of his career,
