Magnitude 6.9 earthquake shakes Greece

MORE than two dozen people were injured when an earthquake shook a Greek island and west Turkey.

The earthquake struck on Saturday afternoon local time, near the Greek island of Samothraki, newswires reported.

Estimated at a magnitude of 6.9 by the United States Geological Survey, it was also reportedly felt as far afield as Istanbul.
