Mahindra launches bargain-priced seven-seat SUV
BUDGET-conscious families are the focus of Mahindra's new petrol-powered XUV500 seven-seat SUV, which starts from $25,990 drive-away.
It marks a bold new entry price for the Indian brand, which previously started from $29,900 drive-away for the diesel engine derivative.
Mahindra can now lay claim to offering the cheapest seven-seater SUV in Australia.
Three variants are available, with the base W6 front-wheel drive costing $25,990 drive-away, while the W8 front-wheel drive is $29,990 drive-away and the W8 all-wheel drive $32,990 drive-away.
All are powered by a 2.2-litre four-cylinder engine generating 103kW and 320Nm partnered to a Japanese Aisin six-speed automatic transmission.
The base W6s come with rear parking sensors, aircon front and rear, walk-through access to the third-row, six-inch LCD screen with CD stereo featuring digital radio and four speakers, rain sensing wipers and cruise control.
Range-topping W8 varaints add leather trim, electric folding rear vision mirrors, seven-inch colour screen with satnav and a reversing camera.
Six colours are available: white, orange, red, grey, silver and black.
There are a range of factory accessories, among them are side steps, stainless steel nudge bar, plastic boot tub liner, tow bar and roof racks.
All variants are backed by a five-year/100,000km warranty with five-year roadside assistance. There is also three-year capped price service program with annual intervals or every 10,000km.
