Toowoomba man jailed for having, distributing child porn

A 62-YEAR-OLD Toowoomba man has been jailed for possessing and distributing child pornography.

Jochen Pleuger had sent 54 emails containing child pornography including images of young naked girls, Toowoomba District Court heard.

A forensic search of his computer had found a total 673 images in the 54 emails as well as 23 videos of child pornography, 19 of which contained 4770 images, some of which depicted children having sex with adults.

Crown prosecutor Kathleen Millican told the court Pleuger had no previous convictions, but the content found on his computer was very serious.

Pleuger no longer lived with his wife, but she was in court supporting him, the court heard.

Pleuger pleaded guilty to five child pornography-related offences.

Judge Tony Rafter SC sentenced him to two years jail, but ordered he be released after having served eight months, to be of good behaviour for three years, and placed him on three years probation.
