Man allegedly stabbed woman multiple times

Police have charged a man following a disturbance at a unit block in Heatley early this morning.

It will be alleged the man has gone to a unit in Boyes Court around 12.30am and has become involved in a verbal argument with a woman known to him.

The man has then allegedly produced a knife and stabbed the woman twice. The man then left the scene. He was taken into custody a short time later and charged.

The 22-year-old woman received stab wounds to her right arm and leg. She was transported to the Townsville Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The 20-year-old man was charged with one count of wounding and is due to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court today.
