Man to be charged after woman doused in fuel and set on fire

A MAN, who allegedly doused a woman in petrol and set her alight in Sydney's CBD, is expected to be charged on tonight

The 28-year-old had been under police guard in hospital since a 34-year-old woman was discovered with critical burns on Friday.

Police will allege the woman, who remains in hospital in a critical condition, was splashed with a flammable liquid and set on fire.

The man was released from hospital on Monday and was being questioned at the Sydney Police Station.
