Man gives chase after witnessing strange light in sky

IT WASN'T a plane, a star, or a satellite, but something was stalking the night skies on Saturday according to Chinchilla worker Ben Gorin.

Mr Gorin, who is originally from Melbourne, was outside about 8.30pm when he spotted a bright, colour-changing light in the sky.

"It wasn't a plane, satellite or star," he said.

"It morphed between blue, green and red."

Mr Gorin said the object was completely silent as it moved around back and forth.

"It was at about a 30 degree altitude, at least 10km in distance," Mr Gorin said.

"It travelled 20-30km in each direction.

"This all happened within about five minutes."

Mr Gorin said the light was like nothing he had ever seen before, and was so unusual he jumped in his car to chase the lurking object.

"It was very, very strange," he said.

"I was standing outside, I was just mesmerised by it.

"I jumped in the car and went out and looked for it."

Mr Gorin said even though he was "a bit freaked out" and wanted to find out more about it.

"I was more curious than anything," he said.

"I don't think it was a commercial plane or helicopter."

Mr Gorin said after its visit, the object looked as though it may have landed in bushland.

"It looked like it lowered to the ground behind some trees," he said.

Mr Gorin said he didn't mind what people thought after his sighting.

"I'm getting laughed at at work and keeping my mouth shut," he laughed.
