Man seriously hurt in Curra crash

TWO men were injured, one seriously, in a single vehicle traffic crash at Curra, north of Gympie, on Wednesday night.

Initial investigations determined their vehicle left the Bruce Highway around 9pm and travelled though a culvert and into bushland before crashing into a tree.

Both occupants managed to escape the vehicle before it caught fire and was destroyed.

The passenger, a 35-year-old man from Woodridge, was taken to the Gympie Hospital with serious injuries.

The driver, a 49-year-old Kingston man, received minor injuries.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
