Man stabbed with a screwdriver in savage, unprovoked attack

A MAN has been stabbed repeatedly with a screwdriver in a bloody, unprovoked attack at a Sunshine Coast pub.

Paramedics and police were called to the Currimundi Hotel just after 11.30pm last night, after a fight broke out between two men.

One of the men was stabbed in the neck and back multiple times with a screwdriver at the Buderim Street pub.

A Queensland Police spokesman said the men appeared to be known to each other.

Police are currently investigating the brutal attack, however no formal complaint to police has been made.

Paramedics rushed the man to hospital for treatment for his stab wounds, but it is understood that he has discharged himself from hospital.
