Marathon mission to save stockman trampled by cow

A STOCKMAN was airlifted from a remote property to the Toowoomba Hospital in what has been described as a 'marathon mission'.

The man, 26, suffered a broken lower leg after he was struck and trampled by a cow about 11.30am yesterday.

The Surat Basin Gas Industry Aeromedical Service helicopter was sent to the property from its Roma base.

It would have been a 17-hour road trip, but the man arrived at Toowoomba Hospital within four hours of being picked up from the property.
