CELEBRITY chef Matt Golinski won over the crowd with his big grin and mouth-watering fresh food dishes at his first public cooking demonstration since suffering a family tragedy that almost claimed his life too.
Decked out in his chef whites at the Jan Powers Farmers Market in Brisbane Square on Wednesday, Golinski whipped up two delectable salad dishes as he spoke to passers-by.
He said he loved cooking for the crowd and wanted to do it every month.
Upbeat and cheery, Golinski said he got a real buzz out of running around the farmers market collecting fresh food ingredients.
Many people at the always jam-packed Wednesday markets went to walk past but doubled back when they realised the former Ready Steady Cook chef was before them.
Golinski lost his wife and three daughters in the early hours of Boxing Day 2011 when his Tewantin home caught on fire.
He suffered burns to 40% of his body trying to save them and ended up in an induced coma for two months recovering himself.
