MKR's David and Corinne: We gave it our all
DAVID and Corinne are looking forward after their My Kitchen Rules disaster last night.
The Queensland lovebirds were given the lowest instant restaurant score, just 27, in the show's four-year history after botching their second chance to impress the show's judges at their waterfront home.
The Cairns couple say there's no point dwelling on the "what if game".
"It really was disappointing because we really did give 110 percent," Corinne told APN.
"If I had stopped for two seconds and thought about that soup… but you can always play the what if game.
"We tried to put it all together, but the food just wasn't there. It just didn't quite make it."
And what about Corinne ironing David's pants while he poured himself a glass of red wine, just minutes before their guests were due to arrive?
"That was a little bit of a set-up, but Corinne does do all the ironing," David said.
"She does it in the morning while I cook breakfast."
The low score aired on TV the same day that Woman's Day magazine published an interview with Corinne's former partner and husband David Wood, who claimed David "The Captain" stole wife Corinne away from him.
Tonight gatecrashers Cathy and Anna host the final instant restaurant. The only way David and Corinne can avoid elimination is if the mother and daughter score lower than 27.
But David is still holding out for a slim glimmer of hope that he and Corinne can avoid the chop.
"We've been at the bottom before thinking we were going to get kicked out and we actually came fourth," he said.
"Two teams ended up getting lower scores than we did. Anything can happen."
My Kitchen Rules airs tonight at 7.30pm on Channel 7.
