LETTER OF THE DAY: Clive puts self before the nation
LETTER OF THE DAY: WHAT an embarrassment the Member for Fairfax is becoming.
Clive Palmer's latest comments, putting at risk our trade with China, are another example of him putting self-interest ahead of the nation's interest.
He has now come out and said he was referring to the Chinese company he and his company are having a dispute with.
That is not an acceptable excuse. As an MP he needs to speak on behalf of his electorate and not his company when he is in public forums.
Now he has suddenly become a climate change convert by offering to host world leaders at his dinosaur theme park resort.
This has self-interest written all over it. If Mr Palmer is so concerned about climate change why is he so heavily involved in the mining industry, which is allegedly a major reason for it?
I am sure a lot of people had high hopes for PUP, but now it appears it is all about getting the best for one person - Clive Palmer.
At least Pauline Hanson had a set of principles she stuck to no matter what (misguided as they were).
Palmer and his party seem to float around and latch on to whatever cause he thinks may get him publicity.
All this without even mentioning Senator Lambie and her penchant for well-endowed men before the Chinese invade us.
