National park fire blaze prompts warning

A FIRE burning in Cooloola National Park is expected to create a smoke haze affecting nearby residents.

The fire, north of Boreen Point, broke out on Wednesday afternoon, and is not threatening properties.

Residents in Kin Kin and the northern areas of the Sunshine Coast may be affected by a smoke haze.

Those affected are urged to close windows and doors and if suffering from a respiratory condition, keep medications close by.
