Neser’s injury gives Boyce his chance in cup

NEW Australian T20 leg-spinner Cameron Boyce has been called into the Queensland Bulls squad for today's Matador Cup day/nighter against New South Wales at the Gabba.

Boyce, who took 2-10 from four overs against Pakistan on debut for Australia in its T20 win in Dubai last week, replaces all-rounder Michael Neser in the 13-man squad.

Neser suffered a fractured finger while taking a catch during the Bulls' loss to the Blues at Allan Border Field earlier this week, and will have a pin inserted today. He is expected to be sidelined for about three weeks.

Boyce (pictured) has played five one-day games for Queensland and 11 for Australia 'A', and hopes to be included in the starting XI either today, or against South Australia at Allan Border Field on Sunday.

Queensland sits in second spot on the table, six points behind NSW which has eight points after winning its first two games.
