New store stocks world’s first babywearing overalls
WHAT started as a novel idea for new mums has quickly turned into a thriving business for Sunrise Beach resident Janneke Williamson.
Janneke launched The Mumsie in 2018 as the world's first babywearing overalls and now - just 18 months later - has opened her first retail store at Noosa Junction.
"I am beyond thrilled to have opened our first retail space here in Noosa Junction," said Janneke.
"It has been an enormous journey to get to this point and I feel so fortunate for the support from our incredible community of mums and bubs!"
The Mumsie & Co has opened beside Franks Gym on Lanyana Way.
Janneke said she was feeling the buzz of rapid growth, through which she embarked on an opportunity to expand her online retail model and connect with her customers face-to-face, right in the heart of Noosa Junction.
The Mumsie & Co space officially opened on Friday, November 15 and has become more than a store to sell the unique overalls.
"The store is designed as a beautiful sanctuary where mums and children can come together, play in the fairy garden, relax and shop,'' said Janneke.
Featuring a quality curation of clothing, giftware and baby items, Janneke said at least 80% of the products in store were by local brands and there was a focus on ethically sourced and manufactured items.
"It became a really exciting opportunity to collaborate with other local designers and brands and support each other in the one space," explains Janneke.
The Mumsie received recognition as a finalist in two categories at this year's Sunshine Coast Business Awards which, according to Janneke, was both an honour and an opportunity for reflection on how far they had come.
The Mumsie & Co joins a fashionable community of neighbours including Vanilla Foods and CLO Studios, who have built a strong local following and continue to solidify Noosa Junction as a quality shopping and dining destination.
