Noosa chamber set for AGM

THE Noosa Chamber of Commerce is holding its AGM on November 14 and is calling for board nominations.

The chamber is seeking people who want to contribute to the Noosa Shire business environment, network with other businesses and participate in the national discussion on the future of businesses, particularly small businesses.

All board positions are open to be filled at the annual general meeting at Trio's Restaurant at Harbour Town on November 14 from 5.30pm.

President Carl Beck said the chamber had gone into bat for several businesses over the past year, and was beginning a campaign to bring back music to our tourism areas.

Nominations need to be made by October 31 and a nomination form can be found on the Noosa Chamber website: www.noosachamber.com.au

Current secretary John Murt said board nominees needed to be a chamber member and then nominated and seconded by current members. You can join online.

Mr Murt said if insufficient nominations were received then nominations could be taken from the floor of the AGM. But he was predicting a competitive ballot as the Noosa Chamber had become "increasingly active, with a higher profile, as it tackled and won several significant business battles over the past year".
