Noosa hosts first pro fights
PROMOTER Jamie Myer is feeling upbeat as he looks to stage a blockbuster "first” for the Noosa fight scene.
"For the first time in Noosa on May 13 we are putting on professional boxing,” Myer said.
The venue will be the Noosa Leisure Centre.
"After doing research (I found) there has never been a pro boxing event in Noosa to date and we will be the first with a three pro fight card as well as kickboxing and amateur boxing bouts,” he said.
Myer said the outstanding Noosa Box Office gym run by Israel Kani will have two of its star amateurs turn professional in Casey Caswell and Jackson King who are former Australian and Queensland champions, while the new heavyweight sensation Django will be a major drawcard.
Also on the card will be legendary Thai fighter Eli Madigan who has notched up 60 wins from 70 fights and four other Thai fights.
On the card Eli Madigan will take on Nick Trask, Caswell will rumble with Rob Ferguson over four rounds in the cruiserweight divsion, Django will look to give Jezza Pltineru a boxing lesson and King will look to reign over Mitchell Whitelaw.
