Noosa Long Weekend opens with free Carnivale Infusion event
ORGANISERS are counting down the days until the Noosa Long Weekend fifteenth anniversary festival kicks off with a free community family event.
Head to Hastings St for the Carnivale Infusion Parade, which includes a fantastic array of street performers/musicians, circus performers, jugglers, dancers and an abundance of feathers and highly infectious dance music.
An exciting finale of this opening parade is in store, as Linsey Pollak and his band of Unusual Suspects become Pied Pipers leading the Carnivale procession and spectators on to Noosa Main Beach for our fantastic Super Heroes Spectacular.
The Parade will start from Noosa Woods, travel down Hastings Street and end with the skydiving exhibition on Noosa Main Beach, in front of the Surf Club, at 6pm.
Festival director Ian Mackellar said the parade was a way of saying thanks for the support the community has thrown behind the festival for the past 15 years.
"Bring the kids and join in the festivity as we turn Hastings St into 'Rio' for one fun filled hour," he said.
In what promises to be the best festival ever, more than 250 artists will descend on Noosa, providing 88 performances over 10 magical days and nights of music, theatre, food and fun!
