Noosa name a bottler water idea

NOOSA will soon be on the lips of all those who appreciate a quality natural spring water, as the man behind the Wimmers soft drink and Cooroy Mountain Spring Water revivals taps into a major tourist brand.

Peter Lavin is always a glutton for punishment when it comes to trying new endeavours, but the successful businessman believes he's backing another winner.

"We've just launched a Noosa Natural Spring Water for the Noosa area and to go further through Queensland," Mr Lavin said.

"The hinterland and Noosa have been at loggerheads over the years, but with Noel Playford and council trying to make a big effort to combine them as one, we came up with the idea three or four months ago for Noosa Natural Spring Water.

"Even though Cooroy Mountain Springs is very strong on the Sunshine Coast, when we go further afield, a lot of people don't know where Cooroy is and Noosa's got that quality name."

He said his company was in discussions with Coles to supply a "premium quality bottle".

"We've got it going out now - just feeding it into a few IGAs," Mr Lavin said.

"It's a bit like the chicken and the egg, about how to go ahead with it. We'll do something now with some sales and marketing."
