NOOSA has been announced as the hosts for the major tourism symposium DestinationQ.

Attendees from all regions, industry sections and business sizes will attend the event to be held 16-17 September 2014.

Premier Campbell Newman told the Sunshine Coast Daily back in January that the tourism industry's largest forum would be coming to the Coast.

The DestinationQ forum is Queensland's most important gathering for the tourism industry and government. The event has been held previously in other iconic tourism destinations - Cairns in 2012 and on the Gold Coast in 2013.

Tourism Noosa general manager Damien Massingham said: "We are honoured to have been chosen as thedestination for DestinationQ and this is a great opportunity for Noosa and the Sunshine Coast. Leaders from the Queensland Government and Industry Leaders from across Queensland will descend on Noosa for this incredibly important Tourism Forum".

"The Outrigger Little Hastings Street Resort and Spa Noosa and the Sheraton Noosa Resort & Spa must becongratulated for their involvement in securing this event for the region".

"Tourism Noosa will be working closely with the Queensland Government, Tourism and Events Queensland and Sunshine Coast Destination Limited to support the event and look forward to providing a warm Welcome to Noosa to the Queensland Premier, all State Ministers and Industry attending DestinationQ.

"I'd like to thank the Queensland Government and Minister Stuckey for choosing the Sunshine Coast and in particular Noosa to host this most important forum".

Registrations for the 2014 DestinationQ forum are expected to open in early May.
